A saga that began 150 years ago
In 1857 the Senfter butchery is founded in San Candido. In the 1960ies Franz Senfter takes over the management and gives the company an industrial imprint.
In
1981 the "Pustertaler Fleischhof" is built and implements a clear separation between fresh meat preparation and the manufacturing of Speck and other pork products.
In 1983 the production site in San Candido is modernized and obtains an export license. Soon thereafter, a distribution platform opens doors in Germany, near Munich.
In 1988 the construction of a new facility in San Candido for the production of Speck and roasted ham is completed.
In 1994 the facility receives ISO 9001 Certification.
In 1995 Senfter establishes a logistics platform in Bologna called Rds srl. Simultaneously Senfter signs a joint venture in China with the Chinese company "Shineway" and starts producing meat products for the Chinese market. A company dedicated to sourcing fresh meat and ingredients is founded in Rotterdam.
In 2001 Italia Salumi Spa, a joint venture between Senfter and Unibon Salumi Scarl, is established. This new company is based in Modena and markets the products of both companies in Italy and worldwide.
In 2005 the joint venture is completed through the transfer of all production units into a new company called Grandi Salumifici Italiani Spa, which is now in charge of all functions from production to distribution of Casa Modena and Senfter products.
The year before Gasser Speck, an Alto Adige based manufacturer, joins the group.
In 2007 Senfter becomes a Holding company with business interests in the food industry, tourism, finance, transportation and real estate.
Franz Senfter establishes the "Harpfe" Foundation, which aims to safeguard culture, arts and history of the Tyrol region.
In 2008 Senfter Holding increases its efforts in fostering alternative energy and becomes sole shareholder of IBET srl. IBET srl (Italian Bio Environmental Tecnologies) is implementing a large-scale project to produce biogas in China.
